We would like to inform participants that we are closely monitoring the Coronavirus developments in Switzerland and around the world. A dedicated page on this theme has been published on the PASC20 website: pasc20.pasc-conference.org/about/coronavirus-covid-19-advisory/. This page will be updated regularly.
We hope that the situation will be resolved by the beginning of the summer and preparations for the conference continue based on this assumption. In case in the following weeks the circumstances appear to compromise the hosting of the event, we will inform all conference participants and report our decision on this page.
The safety of our conference participants is our top priority and we are in contact with the University of Geneva to discuss the guidelines we receive from the Swiss Confederation. Currently the federal ruling has banned all public and private events until at least April 19. Additionally, all establishments open to the public are now closed (with some exceptions such as food stores, pharmacies, social services and public administration). These measures should reduce the spread of the disease in Switzerland so as to be manageable by our health care system. At the present time, we continue monitoring the situation and hope that it gradually improves in the following weeks.
Assuming that we will be able to host the event at the end of June, preventive measures will be discussed with the University. We will coordinate efforts so as to offer you all a stimulating and safe platform, where you can engage in technical discussions and enjoy each other’s company in a relaxing environment.
Moreover, we are closely in contact with the City and Canton of Geneva (through the Geneva Convention Bureau) who are providing guidance to event organizers in this exceptional situation.
PASC20 will reimburse registration fees should the event be cancelled.
We encourage PASC20 attendees to hold off from making travel plans and hotel arrangements until at least the end of April, when we expect the situation to be clearer.
