PASC27 / About

Early Career Travel Grants

SIGHPC is generously sponsoring four travel grants to help early career professionals attend PASC27. Selected professionals traveling from within Europe will be awarded a maximum allowance of $800, while $1600 will be available for those traveling from other continents. Moreover, PASC27 will cover the registration fee for selected applicants.

SIGHPC and PASC27 will favour applicants who submitted a contribution to PASC27; however, this is not a requirement of the award.

Applications are due by April 2, 2027, with notification provided by April 28, 2027.

You are eligible to obtain an early career travel grant if:

  • You are working in the field of high performance computing in any country
  • You have less than 7 years of full-time experience in the field
  • You are a SIGHPC member in good standing
  • You have not received any sanctions currently imposed in the ACM violations database

To apply, you must provide the following:

  • Personal information
  • A simple budget (estimated amount for travel and for accommodation, and, if necessary, how do you plan to bridge the gap between the money covered by the grant and the expected extra costs)
  • A statement of why you wish to attend PASC27 and what benefits you can gain from participating
  • A letter of support from your advisor or head of department (referencing any institutional support or recognition that will be provided)

To apply, fill-in the application form and send your letter of support (in PDF format) from the same email address entered on the form to info@pasc-conference.org. Please indicate “PASC27 Early Career Travel Grant” as a subject line.

A link to the application form will be available on this webpage shortly.

Selected applicants will be assigned a mentor for PASC27 who will help them get the most out of the conference by suggesting relevant program sessions and introducing them to experts in their research field.

Impressions from previous Early Career Travel Grant recipients

“PASC26 was an inspiring and highly rewarding experience. I was honored to receive an ACM SIGHPC Early Career Travel Grant, which enabled me to participate in this outstanding conference. Presenting my research on trustworthy and explainable AI for health and agriculture using HPC allowed me to receive valuable feedback from leading international researchers. The conference provided excellent opportunities to learn about the latest advances in scientific computing, exchange ideas across disciplines,
and establish new research collaborations. The experience has strengthened my commitment to developing trustworthy AI solutions and will significantly influence my future research and international collaborations.
” Natasha Nigar (University of Engineering and Technology, Pakistan)

“The PASC24 conference was an excellent opportunity to explore high-performance computing (HPC) from many perspectives. The discussions centered on hardware development, scientific applications, and especially carbon footprint were inspiring. My mentor, Charles, was superb at offering advice and was always available to chat. The organizers and student volunteers went out of their way to support the conference and make PASC24 a fun and enriching experience.” Luisa Patricia Gonzales Guerrero (Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, USA)

“PASC was a tremendous intellectual experience, bringing together experts in simulation, HPC, learning, and other fields. The technical papers and posters were a highlight of my time at the conference, in addition to the valuable professional connections I made. I highly recommend submitting work to and attending PASC to any researchers working in these fields. I’m especially grateful for the support of SIGHPC in providing a travel grant for my attendance at PASC.” David Hyde (Vanderbilt University, USA)
