Guidelines for Minisymposium Presentations
We are giving the possibility to submit an individual talk on a topic closely aligned with the conference themes. If your talk is accepted for the conference it will be grouped into a minisymposium with three other speakers’ talks. We aim to accept a total of eight talks.
For this call, we invite submissions addressing one or more of the following questions or topics:
- Integrating AI and HPC for Accelerating Scientific Discovery
Submissions under this topic should showcase the integration of AI and HPC in scientific computing applications. Contributions may include AI-enabled scientific workflows, in situ AI analysis of HPC simulation data or AI-based decision-making as part of a scientific discovery cycle. Submissions should also focus on how AI techniques may be used to accelerate computationally intensive applications, for example through surrogate models, reduced-order modeling, or intelligent exploration of large parameter spaces. - Trustworthy AI for Scientific Discovery
This topic invites proposals that discuss methods and approaches for preserving scientific rigor, accuracy, reproducibility, and physical consistency while leveraging emerging AI capabilities for scientific computing. Contributions may address automated validation and testing, uncertainty quantification within AI-enabled discovery workflows, assessment of numerical and systematic errors, or methods for ensuring the reliability and trustworthiness of AI-assisted scientific results. - Ethics and Societal Trust in AI-Enabled Science
Submissions under this topic should explore the ethical and societal dimensions of AI-enabled applications and their role in fostering public trust in science. Contributions may address responsible and ethical use of AI, transparency and accountability, fairness and inclusiveness, societal and environmental impacts, and the implications of AI-driven scientific advances for policy and decision-making. Topics may also include effective science communication, public engagement and participation, institutional and systemic challenges, and approaches for strengthening the trustworthiness of science and its role in addressing global challenges.
The PASC Conference series is an international and interdisciplinary platform for the exchange of knowledge in scientific computing and computational science with a strong focus on methods, tools, algorithms, workflows, application challenges, and novel techniques in the context of scientific usage of high performance computing.
The Conference is co-sponsored by the Swiss National Supercomputing Centre (CSCS – a unit of ETH Zurich) and the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM). The conference is managed by CSCS. The event will be hosted at the Palazzo dei Congressi, Lugano Switzerland.
Submission and Review Process
The submission consists of the following:
- Title
- Scientific domain(s): A primary domain and (preferably) additional domains.
- Presenter details: Names and contact details of presenter.
- Abstract: Description of the talk (up to 800 words).
- Abstract for publication: A short abstract for publication in the conference program (no more than 200 words).
All of the submissions will be reviewed directly by the chairs of the Minisymposia and Posters Program.
Proposals must be submitted through the PASC27 online submission portal.
Conference Participation Terms
Conference contributors whose submissions are accepted for presentation at the conference are expected to present their work on-site.
Please note that PASC27 is unable to reimburse the expenses or waive the registration fees of organizers and speakers. All organizers and speakers must register for the conference and are subject to the corresponding registration fees.
The PASC Conference reserves the right to remove contributions that are considered outside the scope of the conference at any time.
The designated presenters may be changed closer to the event according to circumstances and based on agreements discussed with the organizing committee.
